People who fight for his religious believe sometimes get a threat. This is not fair, I defend for my religion.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Abu Bakar Ba'asyir`s lawyer proposes an appeal to a higher court regarding the 15 years jail sentence that has been imposed on the cleric at a court session here on Thursday.

"They (lawyer) proposes an appeal for me. But I don`t care" said Ba'asyir after attending the court session at the South Jakarta District Court.

The chief of Al-Mukmin Islamic boarding school in Central Java said he felt like he was being tyrannized.

"People who fight for his religious believe sometimes get a threat. This is not fair, I defend for my religion," he commented.

Ba'asyir was arrested since August 2010 with accusation of being involved in terrorism. It is said that he regularly received a report from a terrorist group about their plan to put bombs in several strategic locations such as foreign embassy offices, five-star rated hotels, the National Police headquarter and a bomb attack to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

The prosecutor demanded a life sentence for Baasyir but eventually the judge imposed a 15 years in jail sentence on the cleric.
