Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands (ANTARA News) - The Malaysian government deported 153 illegal Indonesian migrant workers through Pasir Gudang port to Tanjungpinang, Riau province, on Friday.

The illegal workers were ferried over in a Batam Line ship which arrived at Sri Bintan Pura International Port of Tanjungpinang at 2 pm, an immigration official said.

Members of the local task force for handling problematic workers welcomed them at the port and took them to a transit facility for temporary shelter.

"They consist of 101 male and 52 female workers," Hamdani of the immigration office said.

He said that most of them carried no immigration documents.
