Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA News) - Some officers of the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) visited Indonesia`s Naval Academy and Education Development Command here on Tuesday.

At the Naval Academy (AAL) the delegation led by LTC Vince Tan was received by the chief of the Marine Department Col. Deddy Susanto, and chief of the Science and Technology Department Lt Col Arya Cakra Wibawa.

During the visit Vince Tan was accompanied by several officers namely Maj Lee Choon Ching, Maj Yen Nyuk Khee, Cpt Tan Poh Huat and Cpt Lee Weiqiang Leonard.

Deddy said the visit was part of the Junior Officers Exchange Program held by the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) and the RSN.

During the visit the Singaporean delegation took the opportunity to visit the simulator bridge at the Seamen`s Department of the Naval Academy (AAL).

They earlier also watched the AAL profile which was continued with a discussion on military education especially naval education.

"We just now also discussed opportunities to increase cooperation in the fields of training and education that could be developed by the two navy education institutions," he said.

During a visit to the Navy Education Development Command the RSN delegation observed several training facilities used by Navy education participants so far.

The facilities include a ship simulator at the Weapon Control and Electronic Training Center.

They also observed a Dynamic Positioning Maneuvering System and Tactical Team Trainer simulators.

The RSN delegation was welcomed by deputy chief of the Naval Education Development Command, Brig. Gen. Verry Kunto in the company of finance director Col Urip Bambang Widjanarko and Col IGK Aribawa, the chief of the Weapons Control and Electronic Training Center.
