London (ANTARA News) - Indonesian ambassador to Spain Mrs Adiyatwidi Adiwoso Asmady was awarded the Estrella de Oro Golden Star from Club de Medios for her participation in Spain`s social world.

Club de Medios is an association of mass media and art executives who every year awarded appreciation for individual and institutional active participation in arts, social and cultural affairs, Third Secretary of the Indonesian embassy in Madrid Krisnawati Desi Purnawestri told Antara`s London correspondent on Wednesday.

The award presentation at a gala dinner at Santo Domingo Hotel in Madrid was attended by government officials, film, theater, and television executives, and journalists.

Besides holding Indonesian cultural and art performances in Madrid and in many other cities in Spain, meetings were also held with Spanish government officials, public leaders, and business players both in Madrid and other cities.

In the meantime, Ambassador Adiyatwidi Adiwoso expressed appreciation for Estrella de Oro and the support of the Spanish community.

On the occasion the ambassador also gave a brief explanation on Indonesia and persuaded the guests to visit Indonesia.

Besides the ambassador, the appreciation was also given to Amparo Larra Aaga, a Spanish artist who in 1986 received the citation as best artist and is still active in the theater business; Norma Duval, former Miss Madrid in 1973, who was very popular as Spanish musical artist.

Chairman of FEDESSO (Federacion de Empresarios del Sur-Suroeste de Madrid / Association of Businesses in South and Southeast of Madrid) Pilar Zamora and Finnish and Colombian ambassadors, have also received the citation.
