Amman (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - King Abdullah II of Jordan said on Sunday continued Israeli settlement activities undermine peace efforts and hamper building confidence between the Palestinians and the Israelis, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

The Jordanian leader reiterated full support for the Palestinian authority in its pursuit to realize the aspirations of the Palestinians in statehood and liberty.

At a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the Jordanian leader emphasized that resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict should address all final status issues, mainly the issues of refugees and Jerusalem with an ultimate view of attaining lasting peace that ends tension in the region.

The Palestinian president said that talks with Abdullah II covered several issues including the authority`s plan to resort to the UN to recognize a Palestinian state at the borders of 1967, the Palestinian reconciliation and developments in the Arab world. (*)
