Tehran (ANTARA News/IRNA-OANA) - Education and Nurturing Minister here Monday evening commemorated sad martyrdom of IRNA reporter Mahmoud Saremi on his demise anniversary, dubbed as Reporters Day ever since, congratulating the country's media reporters on their day.

According to the Information and Public Relations Center of the Education and Nurturing Ministry, the Education Minister Hamid-Reza Haji-Baba'ie has in his message meanwhile appreciated the sincere efforts made by the media reporters to reflect the realities of the Iranian society.

The minister has in a part of his message on the occasion of the Reporters Day pointed out the great significance that the Glorious Qur'an has attached to `Pen', where Almighty Allah has sworn by its sanctity in a holy verse in the Glorious Book, reiterating, "That is the reason why the sanctity of pen must be preserved by everyone, particularly by the media representatives, whose prophecy is engineering the public opinion, as a dire necessity."

He adds, "The Islamic Iranian reporters have proudly contributed 344 martyrs, 50 disabled in action reporters, and 12 freed POWs to the media community and to the society, whose names shine on the forehead of the holy Islamic system for good."

Haji-Baba'ie adds in his message, "On behalf of the elite teachers' society, I hereby commemorate the sad martyrdom of reporter Saremi by butchers whose criminal acts would never be wiped off the hearts and minds of our noble people, appreciating the entire pious, devoted and responsible reporters whose sacred objective is reforming the affairs in various fields in Islamic society, as well as the country's precious teachers, who are the messengers of goodness, kindness, frankness, bravery and love and kindness, as well as the lessons on fidelity to vicegerency, and love for the Creator of the universe in the hearts and minds of the students."
