Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A song written by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was played after the national flag-raising ceremony to mark the country`s 66th independence anniversary at the State Palace here on Wednesday.

"It is quite good," Guruh Soekarnoputra, one of the sons of the late independence proclaimer and first president Soekarno, said when asked to comment on the song.

He also said that it was worth playing at the ceremony. Guruh attended the ceremony along with his older sister Sukmawati Soekarnoputri. His other older sister former president Megawati Soekarnoputri did not attend the ceremony.

Megawati Soekarnoputri who is now chief of the opposition Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP) party preferred to commemotate the national day at her party headquarters with party members.

Besides the President`s song titled "from Jakarat to Oslo for Our Earth", the student choir also sang independence struggle songs and also traditional songs from regions.

The ceremony was attended by national leaders and dignitatires including former vice presidents Jusuf Kalla, Hamzah Haz and Try Sutrisno.

Asked to comment on Yudhoyono`s song Kalla said it was quite nice to hear.(*)
