Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - Golkar Party`s advisory board member Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X said he respected Surya Paloh`s decision to resign from the party recently.

"That is every cadre`s human right. For us it is no problem. It is neither a problem for a cadre to remain nor to leave the party. Once again that is every cadre`s human right," he said after attending a "Syawalan" gathering to mark the first month after Idul Fitri here on Thursday.

The Sultan did not believe that the resignation of the chairman of the Golkar Party`s Advisory Board would automatically create internal division. "It is not certain," he said.

Asked about the possibility for him to run for president in 2014 he said "it is still too early for me to state that."

Sultan Hamengku Buwono earlier resigned from the Nasional Demokrat (Nasdem) that Surya Paloh established, following the founding of Nasdem Party he believed was the transformation of Nasional Democrat organization.

Surya Paloh who is a noted businessman that control some media businesses earlier said he had decided to resign from Golkar, after having been in the once strongest party in Indonesia for 43 years, because he felt he was no longer needed by that party.

"I think Golkar no longer needs people like me. Meanwhile I also do not need Golkar anymore," he said.

He said the decision was not the end of his political career. "I have just reached an anti-climax in Golkar. I saw myself in the mirror and I think I am not yet very old and so it would be regrettable if I have an anti-climax in everything," he said.

He also said that his decision was neither connected with the momentum of the 2014 presidential election, adding he would focus on charity works with the Nasional Demokrat mass organization that he established.

"Frankly speaking I am not yet thinking of running for president. 2014 is still too far away. A lot of things may still occur in the next three years` time," he said.
