Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The State Audit Board (BPK) has appointed Hasan Bisri the agency`s deputy head for the 2011-2014 term to replace Herman Widyananda who died on June 20, 2011.

"BPK members decided at their meeting on Wednesday (Sept 7) to appoint Hasan Bisri BPK deputy head for the 2011-2014 period," the agency said in a press statement issued on Friday.

Hasan Bisri who is a career accountant at the agency had been a BPK member since 2004 before he was appointed to the post.

"The election of the BPK deputy chief was conducted in accordance with Article 15 of Law No. 15 of 2006 on State Audit Board. The article stipulates among others that BPK chief and deputy chief shall be chosen from and by BPK members," the statement said.

Being BPK deputy chief, Hasan Bisri will oversee the realization of tasks at the main inspectorate, the main directorate of education and training, the main directorate of legal affairs, and the secretariat general as well as the handling of state losses.

Hasan Bisri will be sworn in by the Supreme Court justice later on.

BPK is made up of seven members. However, one of them, T. Muhammad Nurlif, is suspended after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named him a suspect in a graft case.(*)
