Tripoli (ANTARA News) - A new Libya will become a country with law, government institution and welfare, and Islamism will be the main source of the country`s legislation, Chairman of Libya`s National Transitional Council Mustafa Abdel Jalil said in his first public remarks in the country`s capital on Monday evening.

"We are moderate Muslims and we will not accept any extremist ideology," Jalil said at a celebration ceremony held at the main square of Tripoli.

The head of Libya`s interim authorities also said that the country`s funds are now in "safe hands," and will be allocated appropriately under the supervision of the Libyan people.

Upon his arrival in Tripoli on Sunday, Jalil announced that an interim government will be established in one week to ten days.

China on Monday officially recognized the National Transition Council (NTC) of Libya as the ruling authorities and representative of the Libyan people.

"China respects the choice of the Libyan people and attaches great importance to the status and the role of NTC, and has kept in close contact with it," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said in a written statement.
