Samarinda, E Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - An Australian education consultant, International Development Program (IDP), will take part in a five-day development exhibition held by the East Kalimantan provincial administration themed "Kaltim Expo 2011" from September 22 to 26, 2011.

"IDP is an international education consultant based in Melbourne," head of the East Kalimantan Licensing and Capital Investment Agency (BPPMD) HM Yadi Sabianoor said here Wednesday.

The Australian education consultant is a facilitator of various educational activities, including Australian scholarships for Indonesian students, also those from East Kalimantan, wishing to study in Australia.

The cooperation between Indonesia and Australia in the sector of Indonesia has won support from various government authorities.

Like in November 2008, Australian Education Minister Julia Gillard and her Indonesian counterpart Bambang Sudibyo signed an MoU on facilitating and strengthening education cooperation between the two countries.

The MoU was signed at Parliament building in Canberra during the 9th Australia-Indonesia Ministerial Forum (AIMF).

The number of Indonesian students in Australia has reached 16.000, 8th of the total number of international students in Australia.

About 1,000 students enjoyed Australian government`s scholarships. All Indonesian students studying in Australia received world-class education.

Yadi said Kaltim Expo 2011 was held at Segiri Sports Hall in Samarinda. This development expo has attracted huge number of visitors to its 138 kiosks provided by the organizers.

Four ministries also attending Kaltim Expo 2011 are the Marine and Fisheries Affairs Ministry, State owned companies ministry, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Cooperatives Ministry. (*)
