Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held a limited cabinet meeting here on Friday to discuss measures to minimize the impact of current global economic crisis.

"The meeting this time is to assure that we take correct measures and we take them in time," he said before the meeting.

He admitted that global economic developments in the past few days have affected directly on the Indonesian economy.

President Yudhoyono said he had already discussed the world economic development with vice president Boediono and coordinating minister for economic affairs Hatta Rajasa.

He said he was satisfied with measures taken so far to overcome that the situation which could be said as abnormal.

President Yudhoyono said based on the experience three years ago quick and correct response would be needed to minimize the impact of the global crisis on the country`s domestic economy.

Early this week he said he had also met with the Association of Indonesian Employers (Apindo) to discuss the impact of the crisis and measures to overcome it.

The limited meeting that day was attended by vice president Boediono, Hatta Rajasa, Bank Indonesia governor Darmin Nasution, minister/state secretary Sudi Silalahi, deputy finance minister Ani Ratnawai, trade minister Mari Elka Pangestu, chief of the investment coordinating board (BKPM) Gita Wirjawan and deputty minister of industry Alex SW Retraubun.
