Jakarta (ANTARA News) - United States Cultural Envoy Mustafa Davis will visit Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Magelang and Palembang from September 22-October 1 to meet members of the media and local business leaders, and conduct workshops with Indonesian filmmakers, producers, directors and film communities.

He is visiting Indonesia through the State Department`s "Cultural Envoy" program which connects American artists with foreign colleagues, as well as cultural and educational institutions, to exchange experiences and expertise.

Mustafa Davis will lead workshops on film production, the film industry, and film research and development, as well as, "Ethics in Filmmaking," "Getting The Shot - Cinematography" and other filmmaking-related topics.

In Jakarta, one of the free workshops will take place at @america, the U.S. Embassy`s premiere high-tech cultural center. Davis will also share his experiences as a Muslim-American filmmaker, whose work often focuses on the lives of other Muslim-American artists.

He set out with his camera and a notepad to find those obscure stories that he felt needed a voice.

After establishing multiple production companies in the Middle East, Davis relocated to Hollywood, California in 2008 and founded the production company (Cinemotion Media).

Cinemotion Media produces feature documentary films (including the award-winning films Common Ground, Deen Tight and The Warm Heart of Africa) as well as music videos, commercials, educational films, corporate videos, and short films.
