Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The State Audit Board (BPK) has asked the government and law enforcers to immediately follow up the results of its audits, BPK member Taufiequrachman Ruki said.

"So, we have said, these are the results of our audits, please, do follow them up," he said after accompanying BPK chief Hadi Purnomo in submitting the First Semester Summary of BPK Audit Results (IHPS I) to President Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyono here on Tuesday.

Based on the results of its audits from 2005 to the first semester I of 2011, the BPK had made 191,757 recommendations worth Rp103.19 trillion to the government.

The results of BPK audits from 2003 to the first semester of 2011 show 166 out of 305 cases worth Rp33.66 trillion that had criminal indications had been reported and followed up by the police, the prosecutor`s office and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The rest has not yet been followed up or no data of their follow-up is available (139 cases).

Taufiequrachman Ruki said every BPK finding must be related to figures or money but not all of its findings have criminal indications that allegedly cause state losses.

"The findings do not always relate to law violations. They may be just about shortage of payment, excess payment or late payment," he said.

He said he had conveyed to the President that the follow-up of the BPK findings was the most important thing.

He said President Yudhoyono responded that further talks were needed to be held between BPK and vice president Boediono with regard to the follow-up action.

"They should discuss technical things needed to deal with the findings, especially those needing improvement" he said.
