Jakarta (ANTARA News) - On September 20, the United States donated interdiction and inspection equipment to the Indonesian Directorate General of Customs and Excise.

The equipment donation is part of the U.S. Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) program, according to the US Embassy here in its official website.

The equipment will assist Indonesian Custom agents to better inspect cargo, upholding Indonesian laws and regulations covering enforcement of strategic trade control.

The September 20 official handover ceremony included remarks from U.S. Coast Guard Commander Curtis Shaw, the EXBS Advisor in Indonesia and Decy Arifinsjah, Head of the Narcotics Sub-Directorate in the Indonesian Directorate General of Customs and Excise.

The EXBS program is the U.S. government`s leading initiative to help overseas partners develop and improve their strategic trade and related border control systems.
