Pekalongan, Central Java (ANTARA News) - Secretary General of the World Islamic Higher Learning Institutes League Abusallam visited Central Java city of Pekalongan on Friday and expressed admiration to the development of Islamic education there.

Abusallam made the statement when observing several Islamic learning institutes and cooperatives here.

"We are proud to see the development of Islamic-based education in Pekalongan unlike those of the Islamic education affairs in a number of developing countries," he said.

The visiting World Islamic High Learning Institutes League secretary general initially concerned about the development of Islamic-based education in Indonesia, but in reality the condition of a number of Islamic education in the city was quite advanced compared to the other developing countries.

Secretary general of the Egypt-based World Islamic High Learning Institutes League on the occasion also pointed out a discourse over his intention to set a network of Islamic-based educational institutions which was considered to be successful against the educational institution he lead.

"The existence of such network would promote the World Islamic education easier," Abusallam added.
