Jakarta (ANTARA News) - US Ambassador Marciel has addressed 98 Indonesian and foreign students at the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) on U.S. foreign policy in the region, the US Embassy here said in its official website.

The discussion also included the U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Partnership, and the President`s upcoming trip to Indonesia to attend the East Asia Summit.

Students in Lemhanas` nine-month training course include high-ranking Indonesian and foreign military personnel, civil servants, business leaders, and political party officials.

The Ambassador used a variety of tough questions from the audience about the Arab Spring, foreign policy towards Afghanistan and Pakistan, the South China Sea, and U.S. domestic politics to reinforce the importance of dialogue to promote mutual understanding, cooperation, and the furthering of common interests.
