Kuta, Bali (ANTARA News) - Bank Indonesia (BI/the central bank) and the finance ministry have agreed to increase coordination on the management of state money by among others improving the utilization of BI Government electronic banking system.

The signing of the cooperation was carried out by BI Deputy Governor Ardhayadi and Treasury Director General of the Finance Ministry Agus Suprijanto here over the weekend.

The document was signed after the two monetary authorities held a two-day routine harmonization meeting in the tourist resort island of Bali.

"The cooperation in the implementation of state money management is expected to be improved further so that it would smooth the implementation of the monetary and fiscal tasks," Ardhayadi said.

In the meantime, Agus said that the routine harmonization meeting was quite relevant to the present situation which was marked by uncertainties due to the economic crisis in Europe and the United States that would slow down the world economic growth, including the economic growth of Indonesia.(*)
