Karawang (ANTARA News) - Singapore`s woman water polo team in the 26th SEA Games beat its Malaysian rival 26-6 at the Lumban Tirta Pool in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Friday.

With its victory, the Singapore team will meet Indonesia in the final round on Saturday (Nov 12) to conrest the gold medal.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian women`s water polo team which had lost for the second time would get the silver medal.

Singapore`s victory was said due to the active role of Kan Enci Mery, a player with cap number 7 who made 7 goals for her team while d Adelyn Yew (5) contributed 5 goals.

In the first round, Singapore won 6-3 and in the second round 14-4 over Malaysia.

In the third round, Singapore also dominated the game. Malaysia`s goal, defended by Yap Yee Chuin (1), was penetrated by two strikes by Singapore`s Kan Enci Mary (7), and three strikes by Adelyn (5), Angeline (6) and Loh Huihui (11).

In the third round, the score was 19-4 for Singapore bringing the final score to 26-6.(*)
