Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia was happy its target of gold medal collection has been met in the archery event of the 26th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games).

"With all the prayers and support from all people in Indonesia we have gained the general champion title," the secretary general of the Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani), Alman Hudri, said in a press conference held after the end of the competition here on Friday.

Indonesia won four gold medals and two silver medals from 10 archery events. Myanmar followed in second place with three gold medals, one silver and three bronze medals.

Alman said the Indonesian team`s achievement warranted a sense of pride as results of competition in the sport branch were getting more difficult to predict.

"We saw Myanmar being the dark horse this year but who knows later when she becomes the host in 2013 she will overtake us," he said.

In view of that "we will conduct evaluation and make prepartions," he said.

The gold medals for Indonesia from the event were contributed by

Erwina Safitri, I Gusti Nyoman Praditya Jati who were the women`s recurve and a mixed recurve team.

In the last 25th SEA Games in Laos, Praditya and friends won three gold medals.
