Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian weightlifting squad made a clean sweep of three golds on the first day of the 26th SEA Games weightlifting event on Friday.

Eko Yuli Irawan contributed the first gold to the Indonesian weightlifting squad after collecting a total lift of 302 kg in the men`s 62-kg class. He lifted 136 kg in his snatch and 166 kg for clean and jerk.

Another Indonesian Muhammad Hasbi came in second place with a total lift of 283 kg consisting of 122 kg in the snatch and 161 kg in clean and jerk.

The second gold medal for the Indonesian weightlifting squad came from Triyatno with a total lift of 321 kg. He lifted 140 kg in the snatch and 181 kg in the clean and jerk in the men`s 69-kg division.

In the third lift of 181 kg in the clean and jerk Triyatno broke his own record of 180 kg made at the 2009 SEA Games in Laos.

Meanwhile, Deni who was Indonesia`s second string lifter won a silver in the men`s 69-kg class with a total lift of 310 kg consisting of 140 kg in the snatch and 170 kg in the clean and jerk.

The third gold for the Indonesian squad came from Sandow Waldemar after outclassing his two Thai rivals, Somphon Kaeokoet and Ekkachai Yeeram in the 77-kg division.

Sandow collected a total lift of 326 kg while Somphon won a silver with a total lift of 324 kg and Ekkachai a bronze with a total lift of 312 kg.(*)
