Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) has projected its 2012 gold output at 3.3 tons.

"At that production level, we will be able to sell 6.5 tons of gold because we will also receive supplies from third parties," Antam President Director Alwinsyah Lubis said here on Wednesday.

He said the selling price of gold averaged US$1,400 per troy ounce this year, well above the company-set target of US$1,200 per troy ounce.

Until the third quarter of 2011 Antam`s gold output reached 2 tons, 1 ton lower than the target of 3 tons or 3,035 kg for this year, he said.

Gold sales in the nine months through September meanwhile reached 5.85 tons, exceeding the target of 5.3 tons for 2011, he said.

He said the company had set the target of its nickel output for this year at 18,000 tons.

"The average price of nickel is expected to range between US$20 and US$22 per ounce in 2012," he said.(*)
