Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The chairman of the Advisory Board of the National Mandate Party (PAN), Amien Rais, has asked the party`s general chairman, Hatta Rajasa, to be willing to be nominated as a candidate for the presidential election in 2014.

"Hatta Rajasa when asked about his readiness to be a presidential candidate for 2014 has always been hesitating to answer yes. God willing at the national conference this time we will elect him and Hatta will say ready to run for president," he said at the opening of the PAN national meeting here on Friday evening.

Amien said Hatta is the best party cadre and even one of the best sons of the country.

According to him Hatta Rajasa is the son of the nation that receives divine leadership.

He said it was rare for a person to hold four different ministerial posts under two different presidents.

Amien said under former president Megawati Soekarnoputri he was entrusted to be a state minister for research and technology. And under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono he was named minister of transportation (2004-2007), minister/state secretary (2007-2009) and chief economic minister from 2009 till now.

He said Hatta had also performed well so that he had been given an award by an international institution.

"Although he comes from outside Java he behaves like a man from Solo (Javanese)," he said.

In view of that he was worth support as a presidential candidate for 2014.

Amien who is also the founder of the party called on party cadres to work hard and care for the people and develop sense of social solidarity.

"If we wish Hatta Rajasa to be a president and if we wish PAN to win votes in double digit in the 2014 general elections PAN cadres must work hard and dare spend their fortune on God`s paths," he said.
