Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The cooperation between Indonesia and Iran needs to be improved, Social Affairs Minister Salim Segaf Al Jufri said in Tehran on Wednesday.

"Indonesia and Iran have a cooperation not only in the field of disaster management but also in poverty eradication, protection of disabled people and orphans," Salim was quoted as saying by his special staff Sapto Waluyo from Tehran.

Sapto said the social affairs minister has been in Iran from December 25-28, 2011 at the invitation of the country`s cooperative, manpower and social affairs minister.

When visiting Milad Hospital in Iran, the minister said Indonesia had an experience in protecting very poor people.

Milad Hospital is serving 30 million poor people in cooperation with 600 hospitals all over Iran.
