Jakarta (ANTARA News) - First Lady Ani Yudhoyono is diagnosed to have typhoid, a serious infectious disease that causes fever, presidential medical team spokesman Aris Wibudi said here on Thursday.

"The First Lady - admitted to Gatot Subroto Hospital at 3 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 - has been diagnosed to have typhoid fever and has to undergo further treatment," Aris said.

He said First Lady Ani Yudhoyono was still having fever every now and again but clinically her condition was improving significantly.

However, Aris has yet to ascertain when Ani Yudhoyono would be allowed to check out.

"We cannot predict when the first lady will be permitted to check out, and her condition seems to have progressed significantly," Aris said.
