Mamuju, W Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - The construction of national roads in West Sulawesi will get a budget of Rp252 billion in 2012.

West Sulawesi Governor Anwar Adnan Saleh said in Mamuju on Thursday that the budget amounted to the funds on the Budget List (DIPA) for the province in 2012.

He said that West Sulawesi had been facing a lack of good infrastructure (roads) especially in the isolated and remote areas which made it difficult for the people to sell their farm produce and yields to the urban centers.

He hoped this year`s road development projects would contribute to regional development as all the important commodities in the province could be mobilized to market outside the area and smoothen local economic activities. (*)
