London (ANTARA News) - It is time for Indonesia and Germany to build a strategic partnership, Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Eddy Pratomo told newsmen at a function entitled "Indonesian Update" in Berlin recently.

A media release from Indonesian Embassy in Berlin to London-based ANTARA on Tuesday said the Indonesian Update was conducted for the newsmen to speak on their views about relations between Indonesia and Germany from the perspective of a journalist.

On the occasion Pratomo said it was time for Germany to give more attention to Indonesia, a big Asian country with a significantly high economic growth.

The Indonesian envoy also underscored the strategic meaning of various visits by both Indonesian and German officials to strengthen the two countries relations.

Pratomo said the visit to Indonesia by German President Christian Wulff in December 2011 to reciprocate President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono`s visit to Germany was a good momentum for the dynamic of the two countries bilateral relations with the focus on five areas of cooperation namely trade, investment, research and technology, health, education, and defense.

"Referring to the areas of cooperation, it is no exaggeration if I say it is time for Indonesia and Germany to build a strategic partnership," Pratomo said.
