Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono welcomed Swedish King Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus who arrived here for a four day visit here on Tuesday.

In a ceremony to welcome the king`s arrival at the Merdeka Palace President Yudhoyono along with all cabinet ministers wore a scout uniform.

King Carl Gustaf who is the honorary chief of the World Scouts Foundation also wore a Swedish scout uniform which is blue.

President Yudhoyono is scheduled to award a "Tunas Kencana" medal on the King who arrived here along with the chief of the World Scouts Foundation, Mike Bosman and several world scout organization board members.

The Tunas Kencana medal is the highest Indonesian Scout Movement award. Among the recipients so far are the late Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX, the late first President Soekarno and the late former President Soeharto.

The award is given to those who are considered having given big leadership, support and aid for the development of the Indonesian scout movement. President Yudhoyono received the award in 2007.

While in Indonesia King Carl Gustaf is scheduled to visit Yogyakarta in Central Java on Wednesday. He also plans to visit Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple.

King Gustaf is in Indonesia to observe the activities of the Indonesian scouts and help the peace mission program.

In his capacity as the honorary chief of the World Scouts Foundation the King has contributed US$500,000 for the program.(*)
