Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA News) - At least four supporters of Persebaya soccer club in East Java died on Saturday, and dozens others sustained injuries, after falling from the train carrying them to Bojonegoro for a soccer match, according to organizers.

Three of the four supporters died in Lamongan Muhammadiyah hospital while another died at the Bojonegoro`s Soesodoro hospital, one of the supporters organisers, Ita Siti Nasyiah, said here on Saturday.

"The report we received from several supporters at the scene said that 14 supporters who sustained injuries were treated at the Bojonegoro`s Soesodoro hospital, while the other three were taken to Lamongan Muhammadiyah hospital," Ita said.

The victim who died at Bojonegoro`s Soesodoro hospital was identified as Miftahul Huda,14, the regent of Krembangan sub-district, Surabaya, later confirmed.

Meanwhile, one of three dead victims treated at Lamongan Muhammadiyah hospital was identified as Sudarmaji, 25, the resident of Rungkut Kidul village, Surabaya.

Report said, the Surabaya club supporters went to Bojonegoro by cargo train on Friday night (March 9) when Persebaya played Persibo, Bojonegoro in the Indonesia Premier League (LPI) on Saturday.

When the train arrived at Babat area in Lamongan district, the Surabaya`s supporters who many of them sat on the roof of the train wagon were pelted with stones by local residents.

The throw caused the soccer fans panic and scrambled to escape, and some of them fell from the train. ***1***
