Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that heavy rain will be falling until next week in a number of areas in Indonesia`s central and eastern areas.

"Next week heavy rain with an intensity of 10.0-20 mm/hour or 50-100 mm/day may be falling in a number of areas in Indonesia`s eastern and central areas," head of Meteorology Sub-sector of BMKG Hari Tirto Jatmiko said in Jakarta Tuesday.

Heavy rain may be falling in the southern parts of West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, southern parts of West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, southern parts of South Kalimantan, the southern parts of East Kalimantan, southern parts of Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Sula Islands, Buru Island, Southern part of Papua, southern parts of Java, and East Nusa Tenggara.

According to BMKG, temperature on the sea surface in Indonesia ranged from 27.0-31.0 Celsius, with the warmest sea temperature in the western part of the Indian Ocean in the northern parts of West Australia, eastern part of Timor Sea, and in the Pacific Ocean north of Papua.

Low wind pressure took place in the western part of the Indian Ocean west of north Australia, and in the northern part of Australia`s western coast moving to the Southeast entering the Australian continent.

BMKG has also issued an early waring to watch out for heavy rain coupled with lightning and strong winds in a number of areas.

On March 13 and 14, 2012, there will be heavy rain coupled with lightning and strong winds in western part of Aceh, northern part of North Sumatra, eastern part of West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, western and southern parts of East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, eastern and southern parts of Central Sulawesi, it said.

Heavy rain with lightning and strong winds may also hit West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, southern part of North Sulawesi, western part of North Maluku, Maluku, western and northern parts of West Papua, and northern and central parts of Papua.

In the meantime on March 15 and 16, 2012 it will hit the western part of Aceh, northern and western parts of North Sumatera, Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Bekasi (Jabodetabek), eastern part of West Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, western and southern parts of East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, southern part of North Sulawesi, western part of North Maluku, Maluku, western and northern parts of West Papua, Central Papua, central and southern parts of Papua.

On March 17 to 19, 2012 it will be heavily raining coupled with lightning and strong winds in the same areas.
