Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The police are questioning eight witnesses to testify on the shooting of senior cameraman Djuli Elfano (Jule) of state television station TVRI at his residence on the southwestern outskirts of Jakarta last Saturday.

"Eight witnesses are being questioned in connection with the murder of TVRI senior cameraman Djuli Elfano in front of his house," National Police chief of public relations, Insp. Gen. Saud Usman Nasution, said here on Monday.

He said that the police were investigating the motive behind the shooting but noted that two people on a motorcycle allegedly shot Djuli Elfano dead.

The two tried to steal a motorcycle parked in front of the house when Djuli came out, he added.

"Based upon the results of a spot investigation we found no bullet shells, so it`s likely that they used a revolver," he said.

He said the police had also identified the characteristics of the culprits, which may offer clues to the investigators trying to identify them.

Djuli was found dead after being shot in his stomach.

"We will use the bullet found in the victim`s stomach as evidence to disclose what kind of firearm was used in the shooting. We are still tracking down the culprits," he said.
