Pamekasan (ANTARA News) - Some 1,050 families had become victim of natural disasters in Pamekaswan as of January 2012, head of the Pamekasan Disaster Mitigation Agency Basri Yulianto said on Monday.

Of the total, 1,0349 families have already received help from the regency administration, while the remaining 11 families not yet.

"Those who have not received assistance are victims of the disaster which struck this month," Basri said.

He said the 11 families are occupants of several villages, including Sokalelah, Kadur sub-district 1 family, Batumarmar, Batumarmar sub-district 4 families, Tanjung 2 families, and Jarin, Pademawu sub-district 4 families.

The Pamekasan disaster mitigation agency is still asking the East Java provincial administration for an early assistance for the 11 families.

"We have already sent them a written report plus photos of the 11 families", Basri said.

The natural disaster in Pamekasan with thousands of victims, include a whirlwind, landslide, fire, beach abrasion and flood.

"They are now given accommodation in the sub-districts in Pamekasan," he said.

Most of the victims of the whirlwind were in the sub-districts of Pegantenan, Pakong, Tlanakan and Pademawu.

And many of the flood victims came from Kota sub-district, landslide from Palengaan and Pakong sub-districts.
