Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Chief Security Minister Djoko Suyanto said activities at the Indonesian embassy in Paris remained normal after a bomb blast near the building on Wednesday morning.

In a press conference at the presidential office here on Wednesday, Suyanto remarked that the incident did not disrupt the embassy`s activities although several glass windows in the office had broken due to the explosion of a bomb placed on a pathway some 10 to 15 meters away from the embassy building.

"The embassy operations remain normal since embassy staff were not disturbed by the incident. They are working as usual," he said.

Suyanto explained that the Indonesian embassy has been cooperating with the French police to uncover the chronology of the events caught by the embassy's CCTV.

"Hopefully, we will immediately receive a report on what actually happened there," he said.

Suyanto could not be sure about whom the bomb was intended to affect. "We cannot talk about it yet since the incident was on the roadside," he remarked.

Marciano Norman, chief of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), had said he did not believe the bomb was aimed at the Indonesian embassy.

Foreign minister Marty Natalegawa, meanwhile, said a similar incident had occurred in 2004. It had claimed no lives, but the results of the investigation provided no conclusive answers.
