Hong Kong (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said the Indonesian government and the Hong Kong administration authority agreed to establish cooperation in the investigation of assets gained from corruption.

"For instance in case people wishing to place assets in Hong Kong, the local administration authority is ready to investigate it," Yudhoyono said when meeting Indonesians in Hong Kong on Sunday.

President Yudhoyono had a meeting with the chief executive of the Hong Kong special administration Donald Tsang in which he wished for a cooperation in the investigation of assets allegedly gained from corruption.

Yudhoyono said the cooperation in the eradication of corruption will make Indonesia cleaner. In this way Indonesia would have more human resources for development and economic improvement.

Besides having agreed to have the assets of the results of corruption investigated, Yudhoyono and Tsang also agreed to foster relations in the eradication of transnational crime.

Then the two leaders also agreed to foster cooperation in other sectors, like manpower, tourism, and education.

In education, Yudhoyono hoped the number of Indonesian students studying in Hong Kong could be increased. He said only 50 Indonesian students are studying in Hong Kong.

"It would also be necessary to establish cooperation with top universities in Hong Kong," Yudhoyono added. (*)
