Beijing (ANTARA News) - Indonesia is inviting Asian financiers to invest in the country and support its Master Plan for the Acceleration of its Economic Development (MP3EI) 2011 - 2025, an envoy said.

Indonesia`s Ambassador to China and Mongolia, Imron Cotan, made the statement when he spoke to the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) in Hainan, China on Monday.

He said investors have the opportunity to take part in the MP3EI development programs, which needs funding of US$600 billion.

In response to the offer, a number of Asian investors welcomed the invitation and expressed interest in visiting Indonesia next month.

Further, Ambassador Imron Cotan said relations between the Asian countries, particularly ASEAN nations and China, needed to continue to increase, particularly since these countries have created a free trade zone.

He also expressed confidence that the ASEAN Community would be established in 2015, which would further strengthen relations between the two sides.

The ambassador said that ASEAN would be able to realize its integration only if it was able to create ASEAN inter and intra-connectivity so that the movement of people, goods and services could be carried out speedily, cheaply and freely.

The ambassador was among the panelists of a forum, along with former Malaysian prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, former Singapore prime minister Goh Chok Tong, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and Thai Deputy Prime Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong.
