"If the police refuse to provide the results of the autopsy, Komnas HAM will ask information from other relevant parties."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) will set up an investigative team to probe into the recent shooting of three Indonesian migrant workers by Malaysian police, according to Komnas HAM chairman Ifdhal Kasim.
"If the House of Representatives (DPR) asks the rights body to investigate the death of the three Indonesian migrant workers who were shot in Malaysia, we will do that," he said here on Friday.
Ifdhal expressed his intention to include in the team activists from the National Commission for Women (Komnas Perempuan) and the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras).
He affirmed that since Komnas HAM`s operations covered Indonesia, it would investigate the case in Indonesia by collecting information from relevant parties such as those who received the victims` bodies when they arrived in Indonesia and the victims` relatives.
"If the police refuse to provide the results of the autopsy, Komnas HAM will ask information from other relevant parties," he remarked.
He added that, if possible, Komnas HAM will request the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain information from doctors in the Malaysian hospital where the autopsy on the victims` bodies was performed.
Herman (34), Abdul Kadir Jaelani (25) and Mad Noor (28) were shot dead by Malaysian police in Negeri Sembilan on suspicion that the three were planning to commit a robbery.
In the meantime, the latest autopsy indicated that no organ has been removed from the bodies of the three Indonesian migrant workers.
"According to the results of the second autopsy on the bodies of the three victims, it was proved that the allegations of organ removal were false," said Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa while announcing the autopsy results here on Friday.
The minister was flanked by the head of the national police`s Health and Medical Center, Brigadier General Mussadeq Ishaq.
According to Marty, the autopsy results answered the questions regarding organ removal.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Mussadeq Ishaq confirmed that the victims` bodies still contained all their organs.
"All of the vital organs such as brain, eyes, heart and liver are still there," he declared.
