Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The mortal remains of former Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih is buried in a special location, Heroes Plaza, at San Diego Hills cemetery, Karawang, West Java.

The location is on top of one of the hills in the 500-hectare complex.

The managers of the cemetery said the special location has been prepared in San Diego Hills for those with great services and non-military figures with an important role for the state.

Some of the figures who had been entombed in the complex included former soccer player Ronny Pattinasarani.

The managers said the lots in the special complex are free from all charges for members of the families of those buried there.

Information has it that the cost of a lot in San Diego Hills cemetery complex cost Rp20 million.

In the meantime, a large tent and smaller ones had already been set up at the location where the body of Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih will be buried. Hundreds of chairs had also been prepared in the location.

A number of military personnel were already standing ready after being trained for a funeral ceremony since morning.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono led the funeral ceremony at 11 am local time.

Prior to the burial, Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih`s mortal remains had been placed in state at the Health Ministry office in Jakarta.

She passed away on Tuesday, May 2, at 11.41 am local time.

She had been detected for lung cancer in October 2010, only a year after she had been installed at Health Minister for the 2009-2014 period.

After the detection, she has been treated for lung cancer both locally and abroad, including local radiation and frozen surgery for the local treatment of cancer and increasing her resilience.

Endang applied for a retirement as a minister. President Yudhoyono signed the decision on honorable retirement on April 30, 2012, only two days before Endang Rahayu passed away.
