Chris John hoped the fight with Shoji Kimora would be much better, because he has developed a special strategy in facing the Japanese boxer.
Singapore (ANTARA News) - Holder of WBA Super Champion featherweight title Chris John is ready to fight his Japanese contender Shoji Kimora in a title fight in Marina Bay Sands Resort, Singapore, on Saturday (May 5).

In the weighing session at Marina Bay Sands on Friday, Chris who has fought with 46 wins (including 22 with knock outs) and two even, has a weight of 57.08 kilograms, while Shoji Kimora won 24 times (including nine with KOs), four losses (one with KO), and two even, has a weight of 56.9 kilograms.

Chris John said later that he is fully set to face Kimora, especially that in the last couple of months he has been training at Herry`s Gym in Perth, Australia.

"Now he is only concentrating on tomorrow`s fight, because all the physical and technical training have been completed," said the fighter popularly called The Dragon.

He added that he did not set a target for a KO win.

When asked about his opponent, he said there are no dangerous blows.

"The only thing to watch out he said are Kimora`s unexpected blows," said the boxer who`s latest title fight was against Ukrainian Staniyslav Merdov, and won.

Besides having the full support of his wife, Anna Maria Megawati, who will also sing the Indonesian National Anthem before the fight, Chris John also had the support of both his parents who have come over to Singapore.

Chris John`s wife sung "Indonesia Raya" when her husband was about to go up when he was to fight Stanyslav Merdov in Australia on November 31, 2011, and the second time will be tomorrow.(*)
