Padang, W Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Six victims in a recent gasoline retail kiosk fire in Tanah Datar District, West Sumatra, have died at M Jamil General Hospital, hospital spokesman Gustavianof said here on Monday.

Gustavianof said the fatalities were identified as Delon, Taufik Hidayat, Dirga, Doni Dafrizal, Zulardi Putra and Sandri A.

In addition to sustaining serious injuries, the victims also suffered from inhalation trauma after the entry of hot air into their respiratory tracts, he said.

Apart from that, eight more victims are still treated in the hospital, the spokesman cited.

According to him, police laboratory team had conducted an investigation over the fire accident that occurred in Padang Datar village, Tanah Datar district, West Sumatra province.

Police had secured a burned fire brigade truck including a gasoline drum as the evidence, the hospital spokesman said.

The local police had also questioned several witnesses, however no one has yet been named as suspect, Gustavianof added. (*)
