"The investments will keep coming."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Ministry of Finance is optimistic about future of foreign investment in Indonesia.

Vice Minister of Finance Anny Ratnawati was quoted on the official Ministry of Finance website on Monday as stating that Indonesia`s investment grade status was making it increasingly attractive for both local and foreign investors.

"We are certain that with our investment grade, we will continue to be seen as an interesting country. There will be good foreign direct investment (FDI) thanks to our portfolio," she said.

Anny explained her assurance was because of the accelerated rate of capital expenditure this year.

She said until now capital expenditure in Indonesia had accelerated up to two times, compared with the same period in the previous year. "We have reached the middle of the second quarter and the capital spending has increased two times more than the same quarter last year," she added.

According to her, the government will support the growth of the Indonesian economy this year with the acceleration of capital expenditure.

"We cannot see that far ahead to predict a sudden reversal. So, hopefully, the investments will keep coming," she said.
