Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The chief of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Vice Marshal Daryatmo, announced here on Thursday that the agency has completed the entire evacuation process of the ill-fated Sukhoi Superjet 100.

"As we have found the Flight Data Recorder (FDR), I declare that the whole evacuation process is completed. Concerning the plane`s debris, I leave it to the Sukhoi company," Daryatmo stated at Halim Perdanakusuma air force base, East Jakarta.

Before taking the decision to end the evacuation process, the joint Search and Rescue team combed the crash site once again, but it was unable to find any more remains of the victims.

Meanwhile, the chief of the National Committee for Transportation Safety (KNKT), Tatang Kurniadi, was positive that the newly found FDR is in good condition.

The KNKT already has the device needed to read the FDR`s data, which will include the plane`s speed and altitude. It will take around three to four hours to open the FDR, while its data analysis process will require around 20 hours.

Sukhoi designer chief Vladimir N Lavrov expressed his gratitude to the joint SAR team for helping in the evacuation process so far. He also confirmed that the newly found device is the SSJ-100`s FDR.

The Russian-made SSJ-100 crashed into Mount Salak on May 9, 2012, and all 45 passengers on board the plane were killed in the accident. (*)
