Sukabumi, West Java (ANTARA News) - Thirty-four houses had been damaged following a magnitude 6.1 earthquake in Sukabumi, West Java, on Monday evening, according to the district`s natural disaster mitigation board (BPBD).

Based on BPBD data 30 houses were reported having been damaged in Cidolog sub-district, 10 of them lightly and 15 others moderately.

"This is still temporary data and therefore the number may still increase as there are 47 sub-districts in Sukabumi," BPBD head of logistics and emergency, Usman Susilo, told newsmen.

Two villagers meanwhile had been wounded after being hit by falling beams during the quake namely Imaliah (6) and Fitri (12) of Pabuaran sub-district.

"We are still collecting data of damaged houses and possible other victims," he said.(*)
