Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Police officers have been deployed to Mutiara Airport, Palu, as Buol`s Regent Amran Batalipu will be flown to the capital city of Central Sulawesi from Tolitoli district on Friday afternoon.

Amran Batalipu was arrested by KPK officers Friday morning at 04.00 am at his house. He was convicted in a corruption case involving the publishing rights for an oil palm plantation business in Buol district, Central Sulawesi.

The police, who are on motorcycle and carrying weapons, are stationed at various corners of the airport, and close to the terminal for VIP passengers.

Meanwhile, Palu Police Officers, Vice Police Chief of Palu Region Senior Commissioner Oerip Soebagio and Commissioner Alamsyah Hasibuan were waiting in the VIP terminal.

Amran was expected to arrive at Mutiara Airport, Palu, at 12.00 pm on an Express Air flight.
