"We did not talk about money matters."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - IMF Executive Director Christine Legarde has lauded the Indonesian government for successfully managing the nation`s economy, vice presidential spokesman Yopie Hidayat said here on Monday.

However, he added, Christine also warned the government to remain cautious about external factors that could affect the economic growth of Indonesia.

"IMF has applauded Indonesia`s economic progress and has encouraged the government to keep the momentum going," Yopie told newsmen after accompanying Vice President Boediono to a 40-minute meeting with Christine at the vice presidential office.

He said the IMF had just finished reviewing the Indonesian economy and would officially announce the results in September.

The IMF expressed hope that Indonesia`s economy would grow even faster, Yopie added.

"At the meeting, Vice President Boediono informed the IMF about the initiatives taken by Indonesian government in the face of the global crisis. And Christine also reminded the government about the current economic problems in many countries worldwide," he stated.

The IMF executive director, after her meeting with Boediono, told the press that "Indonesia and the world economy" was the main topic of discussion at the meeting.

"We did not talk about money matters," Christine added.
