"We deny the convict`s request to review the sentence."Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Supreme Court (MA) denied allowing a review of the death sentence previously awarded to serial killer Very Idham Heryansyah alias Ryan Jombang for killing 11 people in West Java, here on Monday.
"We deny the convict`s request to review the sentence," clarified Supreme Judge Artidjo Alkostar while explaining the court`s stand.
This denial of Ryan`s request means that the convict will face death penalty soon.
Ryan was sentenced to death in April 2009 for killing 11 people, one of whom is Heri Santoso (a 40-year-old) whose body was found dismembered in Depok area, West Java province.
In response to the sentence given to him, Ryan requested the Supreme Court to review his case arguing that he is a psychopath and therefore cannot be sentenced to death.
