Surabaya , E Java (ANTARA News) - Visiting Queens Park Rangers (QPR) from Britain beat host Persebaya 2-1 in a friendly game in this East Java capital city last night .

The goals for QPR were scored by Adel Taarabt at 26' from penalty spot and Boby Zamora at 67'. Fernando Soler scored at 17' for Persebaya.

"We are satisfied despite the defeat. Persebaya played well with high discipline," Persebaya coach Divaldo Alves said.

QPR coach Mark Hughes said his players were too tired after a marathon of three pre-season matches they played in southeast Asia.

Before flying in to Persebaya, QPR played two matches in Malaysia against Sabah Selection and Kelantan FA, and trounced them 5-0 respectively.

"We are tired as in less than 24 hours we played again here," Hughes said.

QPR were not in their best form, while Persebaya played well with high discipline, while continued to try to score," he added.

Persebaya scored first by Soler capitalizing on a blunder by QPR goal keeper Robert Green who failed to catch a long ball from Yusuf Hamzah.

The visitors, however, did not take long to make the equalizer when QPR was given a penalty when Otavio Dutra fouled Fabio da Silva in the Persebaya's penalty area.

Taarabt scored from the penalty spot to make it 1-1 at 26' until the end of the first round.

In the second half, QPR looked set to win the match with more aggressive play forcing Persebaya to remain defensive.

Persebaya managed only to hold out until 67's when QPR finally scored the winner by Zamora befopre 30,000 Persebaya supporters.

Left behind with one goal, Persebaya replaced striker Patrick Wanggai by Diego Michiels. QPR also made a replacement sending in experienced Premier Leage players Saun Wright Philips and Park Ji Sung.

However, no score made until the game was over.
