Around 123,000 passengers arrived at the port, up from 111,000 passengers last year.
Bakauheni (ANTARA News) - The National Police (Polri) Chief General Timur Pradopo and National Defense Forces (TNI) Commander Admiral Agus Suhartono inspected the Bakuheni ferry port in Lampung on Saturday.

The officials inspected the port to review the latest security arrangements made for the Lebaran holiday exodus from the port, Yanes Lentanga, a spokesperson for the Inland Waterway Transportation Service PT ASDP said.

Lentanga said he informed the Police and TNI chiefs that the number of ferry passengers arriving and departing from the Bakauheni port for the Lebaran holiday this year has increased significantly.

Based on the information received from Lentanga, Pradopo stated that the number of holiday travelers and motorcyclists jumped 32 percent and 42 percent respectively, compared with last year, while the number of four wheelers has dropped by around 4 percent.

He added that three days before the Lebaran day, around 123,000 passengers arrived at the port, up from 111,000 passengers last year.

He also expressed his satisfaction with the security arrangements at the Bakauheni port for this year's Lebaran holiday exodus, and said that no criminal activity has taken place so far.
