Padang (ANTARA News) - Six minibus passengers who suffered major injuries after a tourist-laden train rammed into the minibus at the entrance of Tabing airport here on Wednesday, at around 10.45 am local time, have been receiving treatment at M. Jamil general hospital.

An information official of the hospital, Gustavianof, stated that one of the victims had a broken leg and had also sustained a head injury.

"Meanwhile, five other victims escaped with minor injuries such as abrasions and tears," Gustavianof said, adding that two of the victims were infants.

The accident happened about 9 kilometres outside Padang, when the train coming from Pariaman district and headed for Padang city, the capital of West Sumatra province hit the minibus.

Meanwhile, evacuation efforts in the wake of the accident also led to traffic congestion in the area for about half an hour.
