"We will also talk about global problems, including the Syria issue."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said the visit of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Jakarta would focus on discussions on the implementation of both countries` bilateral strategic partnership, following the earlier agreement between Presidents Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Barack Obama.

"We want to see progress in the comprehensive relationship between Indonesia and the United States, since we have a horizontal relationship. Our partnerships is not only in the political sector, but also in the economical and social sectors," said Marty at the Merdeka Palace here on Monday.

He added that the development of the bilateral relationship was improving and allowing both countries to prosper.

In the economic sector, the United States and Indonesia were focusing on improving the value of their trade and the US investment in Indonesia, which remains concentrated in certain sectors.

"In our economic partnership, we still focus on trade issues since the US investment in Indonesia is still developing in certain sectors, such as the extractive industry sector. We want to promote the infrastructure sector to encourage our bilateral business relationship," he said.

Marty added that he would like to discuss several regional issues with his US counterpart, such as the South China Sea, Korean peninsula and Myanmar.

"Besides bilateral and regional issues, we will also talk about global problems, including the Syria issue," Marty said.

He added there would be no special talks on terrorism.

The US Secretary of State has scheduled a two-day visit to Jakarta, as she arrived on Monday and is scheduled to have meeting with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Tuesday (Sept 4).
