- Four Additional Locations Slated for Diverse Southeastern Asia Archipelago

ALISO VIEJO, California, Sept. 10, 2012 (ANTARA/PRNewswire) -- Johnny Rockets unveiled its first restaurant in Indonesia at Bali's upscale Beachwalk Kuta Beach open-air shopping, dining and entertainment complex. With thousands of people visiting the world-class beaches each day, this tourist-rich area of Southern Bali is well suited to the international restaurant chain's all-American brand and dining experience.

Like its nearly 300 counterparts in 16 countries and 32 states, the new Johnny Rockets restaurant in Bali offers delicious all-American fare along with regional favorites in a fun, timeless ambiance. Menu items include juicy Hamburgers, crispy American Fries served with a ketchup smiley face, classic Sandwiches and hand-spun Shakes. Dancing servers, twirled straws, an open kitchen and music from the past eight decades will appeal to Indonesians who like to be entertained while dining out.

During the Franchise Times/IFA/U.S. Commercial Service Trade Mission to Vietnam and Indonesia last December, Steve Devine - president of Johnny Rockets International - signed a franchise agreement with hospitality titan Wiryanti Sukamdani to open five Johnny Rockets restaurants in Indonesia over the next five years. Sukamdani, who graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Hotel Administration, runs the Riyanti Investama International Group, a subsidiary of the Sahid Group with holdings in real estate, restaurants, hotels, and condos. A member of Indonesia's Parliament and founder of the country's tourism board, Sukamdani and a partner own approximately 200 Pizza Hut restaurants in Indonesia.

"Indonesians love Western brands, and we wanted a unique burger concept that we'd feel proud introducing to our vibrant island community," said Sukamdani. "With Johnny Rockets' all-American menu, authentic decor, friendly service, uplifting music and feel-good ambiance, we knew it was a place where families could go for relaxed, casual fun."

"Wiryanti brings a wealth of operational and industry experience to Johnny Rockets, and we feel fortunate to have her as a franchise partner," added Devine. "With more than 248 million residents, Indonesia is an exceptional market for our unique, all-American dining experience. We're very confident that Wiryanti will maximize these opportunities with her new Bali restaurant, as well as her further expansion into this beautiful, diverse country."

Johnny Rockets' new Bali restaurant is located at the Beachwalk, a Sahid Kuta Lifestyle Resort, at JL. Pantai Kuta. It is open from 10:00 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
